Well, there's constant shuttle/transport travel between Earth and Mars, and the ship's being built in an orbital station around Mars.

i have yet to find where it was made clear that the ship was starting at an orbital station around Mars. But so long as there'd have been a way for the characters to get there without having had to have been on Mars for sometime already, it's fine.

I might've been the only one who gave some hint of the set-up, whether it was right or not. But my belief was that shuttles were launched from Mar's surface to it's orbiting Space-station, and then magnet-driven shuttle-pods were launched from the space-station to the launch-station where the Harbinger resides.

So it would be perfectly fine for shuttles to arrive at the space-station from other planets. This was only my interpretation of it, however.

Mizzy's right; shuttles could be coming from other planets to the orbital station, though most dock at other stations first and ride transports int he same way Gabby did.
