I just wanted to point out that this is a blatant lie. As is proven by the following image. It is absolutely ridiculous to say that we can talk about anything, but then erase a whole conversation because it was "political." Was anyone FLAMING? I didn't see anything. I wasn't amused at Kep's political picture, but it wasn't flaming. Was anyone being HARASSED for their views? Unless it happened and was deleted sometime today, (and I've been checking the board throughout the day) the answer there is NO. There is no reason to close a thread and delete a whole conversation simply because it has politics in it. Grow up people. Politics are everywhere, and pretending they aren't there or trying to ignore them only makes it look like you're immature and incapable of having your political views challenged. Now, I'm fully aware that this will probably be closed and deleted and that I'll likely get some sort of "punishment" for it, but you know what? I don't really give a care. This is part of why I wasn't certain that I'd come back to HE. I wasn't certain that I wanted to come back to a place where speaking my mind meant getting that post deleted and threats of banishment for speaking my mind. I wasn't certain I wanted to come back to a board on which the main "police" person over-reacts to just about everything and whose first response (it seems) is to simply close and delete anything that offends that person. BTW, Tropi, if you have anything to say to me about this, kindly get on MSN and tell me to my face.

Elliot Put down a rule that Politics were NOT to be discussed -openly-. I decided to get my head out my ass and stick to the rule put down BY Elliot.
Also, I have no problem at ALL for you speaking your mind Chelle, and you won't be punished. But it was more or less pointed at Kepora who brought it up with an offencive image that could have just as easily been sent through PMs or IM and it was also sending the original topic OFF topic.
I may have been a bit harsh, yes. But it had to be done.
Period.

The only reason Elliot had to set that rule down was because people had been proving themselves incapable of a decent conversation. And that image that he put up is only offensive if you can't take it in stride. I've been a Republican all my life, did I appreciate being called dumb? NO. Did I understand that it was just a stupid joke and not to be taken seriously? Heck yes. Taking offense at such things shows (to me anyway) that you are too defensive about such things.
I really seriously don't think it was necessary to delete the posts either. A simple warning to get back on topic would have sufficed. But that isn't how things roll around here is it? No, we just close and delete the things that we don't like.

Chelle, I'M a conservative republican, and I AM defencive, yes. But it isn't a flaw that's going to change. Now, if you're really upset about me doing MY job, then I'll re open the topic.
As long as the topic STAYS on Topic.

Correction: you OVER did your job. That is what has upset me. It was not necessary to delete all the posts, hypocrite. You participated in the political portion yourself. If a warning to get back on topic had not worked, THEN it would have been appropriate to close the topic. I really don't give a care about the original topic, opening it won't do anyone any good.

I will keep that In mind next time... Even though you yourself are acting just as hypocritical about my hypocritcalness.
And yes I did. But then I realised it was pointless and that I was breaking a rule that Elliot had set down. So I fixed it...

Wow. I don't post on here much, but I've noticed that a lot of what you say, Chelle, or rather HOW you say things, tends to rub people the wrong way here. Maybe it's best for all if you, and everyone, followed the old saying that 'if you have nothing nice to say, don't say anything at all', if only to keep the peace around here.
Political discussions tend to turn sour, anyway. Especially when people become unwavering in their views. Besides, do we really need real-world politics in here?

lol, f*cking up peoples' profile settings and setting their email from hide to display is pretty crappy mod behavior too

and I've noticed that it doesn't seem to matter how hard I try to make something sound at least tactful, that one or more people take offense to it. So I've given up. I'm done trying to be nice and tactful and respectful, because all I get out of it is hurt feelings. Do you have any idea how many times I've told Elliot that I was thinking about leaving? Every single time I've mentioned leaving because I didn't want to deal with the crap from people anymore, he talked me into staying.
And if you expect ME to follow the "if you can't say something nice" rule, then I expect EVERYONE, most especially MODS to do the same. If there's one thing I really can't stand, it's double standards. What's good behavior wise for standard members should also be good for mods.

I guess some Republican supporters don't know how to take a joke. Although I thought it was funny as soon as I starting giving pressure to the former president's decisions that all the posts were deleted. Whatever, I'm gonna play some X-box Live........peace out.

Actually, Mods do not have the capability to edit profiles. Only the member himself, or the Admins.
On a second note, the politics was ceased because No one was going to leave me alone because I expressed MY opinions, because obviously my opinions are wrong and there's were right.
And When have I said negative things?
In fact, I was highly pleased that you came back in a "good mood"... Too bad it died.
In another corner, I can take a joke, but that was also posed as an insult, it didn't help when Kep said what he said, like I don't get to have my OWN opinion of Bush.
B'AH!

Actually, Mods do not have the capability to edit profiles. Only the member himself, or the Admins. Then it was pretty crappy admin behavior, cause it wasn't me. I take it this won't be investigated or inquired about and will basically be ignored. Right?

I take it this won't be investigated or inquired about and will basically be ignored. Right? Wrong. It may be a difficult case to solve since there is only one admin other than Shani, but she'll get on it alright.
