The Pit

The Pit is closed until further notice.(this is a general Pit thread, it is not for official arena fights) ((both continued from The Forest)) "Oh come on, you know I'll be a good girl," Jas said in mock protest as she handed over her many knives. "Yeah, but rules is rules, Jas. I'll see you in a little bit, now get moving." Jasmine smiled at the fox collecting weapons at the entrance. They had a bit of a friendship going, and she liked to tease him about taking her weapons. She quickly found herself a seat and settled in to watch tonight's fights. Stryker, as Matthias was known in the Pit, didn't have any weapons. He never used weapons in his fights unless it was a peculiarity of that fight. He strode purposefully down the hall to the fighter's locker to see tonight's lineup. "Hmm, looks like I got a bit of time before my fight. Guess I'll go find a seat for a bit." Turning, he started back through the long halls to the stairs that would lead up to the spectator seats.

So there she was, reclined on the couch in the bouncer's lounge, feet up on the coffee table, hat pulled down over her eyes. It was her shift, but seeing as everyone had to come through the weapons check-in, she wasn't really in that much of a hurry to get to her post. Neither were the other bouncers, who were lounging around and chatting lazily. There were three others besides herself, this was only a minor event so they weren't expecting too much trouble. The others pretty much left her alone. They weren't shunning her or anything, but it just so happened that these three were the same guys who met up with her bad side. It was just after the Women's Division Championship, and she had trounced her opponent, who obviously wasn't prepared for her fighting style. It had been fairly anticlimactic for a championship bout. The girl immediately rushed in to get first strike, was hoisted into the air, and slammed headfirst into the ground behind her target using her own momentum against her. Yours truly stood up, brushed herself off, and went to claim her prize. That was it. The other fighter was unconscious, probably had a concussion, and sure as hell was going to play it safe the next time. After the ceremony and whatnot, our girl confronted the Man about a fight with the male champion, and was quickly denied, as "such a beautiful young lady would just get herself hurt". Oh well she wouldn't have that, and she stepped in to give the Man a piece of her mind. That's where these three came in. It was almost as fast as the match earlier. One rushed in, was tripped, and axe kicked to the floor. The other two leapt from either side, she shifted out of the way, threw her arms in, and konked their heads together as they tried to stop from crashing into each other. They weren't out, but they were sure as hell dizzy. So they knew what she was capable of, and just left her to her own. After all, the Man had offered her a job on the spot, she was one of them now. They hung out, they chatted, they gambled, whatever they could to pass the time. If it wasn't for the body, they'd probably forget she was even female... Her buzzer goes off, as do the ones on the others. Her head moves slightly to look down at the pager, then pushes out of her seat. She shifts the toothpick in her mouth and calls out as she heads out the door, "Ya'll don' worry, Ah have it covered." One of the guys nods and they turn back to their conversation. She straightened her outfit as she walked down the hall, heading towards the weapons check-in gate. She headed past one booth and to the next, looking for the issue. One of the checkers glanced at her, more specifically at her rear end and fluffy tail, then mumbled to the person he was helping "Oh hey, it's Chris. Check this out." Said person was already watching, obviously also fixed on her tail area. "Oh I am, I am..." She leaned up against one booth in particular, where a decently sized wolf was threatening the checker, and flicked the hat higher up on her head and out of her eyes and brushing her loose hair over her shoulder. "Hey ya'll, wut's goin' on?" The wolf kept going on, before finally glancing over to her. "I'll tell you, this jackass thinks he can take my rifle! Like hell if I'm gonna hand it over to a pissa--" He stops, undressing her with his eyes, and a sly smirk crawls over his face. Oh, he's putting on the charm now. "Well well well, what's a lovely doe like yourself doing in such a dirty, low place like this?" By now, all of the checkers have stopped and are watching the scene, and for that matter, a large number of the waiting patrons as well. "Ah well, ya know, Ah clean up messes, take out the trash, that sorta thing." He shmoozed his way closer, arms crossed, obviously trying to show off how muscular he was. "Well how about we just skip this whole thing, and you come with me back to my place, hmm?" The toothpick shifted to the opposite corner of her mouth and she pushed away from the booth's wall, dusting off her shoulder. "Sure, hun, but jus' gimme a minit. Got one more thing te' take out." And with that she swings her arm, hand pulled in towards her chest, clocking him with her elbow square in the jaw. He stumbles back with eyes wide in shock, hand to his muzzle, just in time to see her reach forward and grab the back of his head, slamming it into the booth wall in front of him. When she lets go he collapses to his hands and knees, she swings her foot forward and nails him square in the gut, knocking the wind out of him and making him drop to the floor. Chris reached down and grabbed him by the scruff of the neck, dragging the groaning 6'8" wolf to the door and chucking him outside to the dirt. "It's a shame, hun, if it wasn' fer yer face, Ah mighta considered it. Go git it fixed, maybe we'll talk, eh?" And with that she heads back inside, nodding to the checker who made the call, and started towards the Pit area to check on the current spectators. Behind her, the first checker and his "partner" are still staring, watching her go. The only sound from them was a mumbled "Daaaaaaamn..." from the customer. ((^_^ yay, I'm involved! Feel free to notice her entering the stands, that's where she's going ))

The Pit

Jasmine was sitting quite comfortably when two large tigers came up behind her.
"Good afternoon, Jassy."
Jas glanced up at the speaker, then turned back to the arena, scowling.
"What do you guys want?"
"Someone wants to see yer, so be a good girl and come along," the second one sneered.
"Well, that's too bad. The fights are about to start and I don't want to miss them."
Sighing the first one laid a heavy hand on her shoulder, "Just come on, Jas. It's the Boss. He said to bring you whether you wanted to come or not."
Irritated, Jas stood up, pulling her shoulder from his grasp, "Why didn't you say so in the first place?" Walking quickly, she tried to put a little distance between herself and Zopa's goons. She knew the way to Zopa's office, she'd been there many times. She hardly noticed the only female bouncer in the place, but her 'guards' did, and made sure to step wide of the hare.
At the office door, she knocked quietly, and entered when a smooth voice bid her enter. The room was large and sumptuously decorated with wall-to-wall carpeting, heavy drapes, and ornate furniture. A large desk dominated the center of the back wall, behind which sat a very large white tiger. He was a very handsome cat, and knew it. He was also very clever.
"Have a seat, Jasmine. We have some business to discuss."
Jasmine knew immediately what he was talking about. "I'd prefer to stand, thank you. I'll have your money by the end of the week. I found a really nice place today. It'll take me a couple of days to clean it out, but I can do it."
Zopa sighed. That was not news he'd wanted to hear. "You don't have to clean it out you know. I'll settle for half your debt. There are other, less dangerous, ways to pay debts."
Jasmine eyes narrowed at the lustful look in his eyes at his last sentence. "Never, Zopa. Give me a week and I'll be able to pay you in full. The place is loaded, I'm sure."
"Fine, one week. After that, you have no choice, you will be taking a change of occupation. Is that clear?"
"Yes, sir," she mumbled angrily.
"Then go," he said with a dismissive wave of his paw. After she had gone, he called one of his men to him, whispering instructions to him.
Outside, the second of the two that had come to fetch her caught up to her. "You know Jassy, you may as well give it up. He always gets what he wants in the end."
"I'd rather be dead, Jorge. Now leave me alone."
"I'm sure Zopa would be happy to arrange that," he said drily. "But if you'll come with me, I'm sure I can arrange for you to be able to get away..."
Just a little bit further away from them, Stryker was chatting idly with one of his buddies. He glanced briefly at the two as they walked around the corner. Pretty... He gave it no further thought, he had changed his mind about going into the stands before his fight. Instead, he opted to stay below until his fight.
Jorge was getting irritated, he grabbed Jasmine's wrist. "Look, you know you're not going to win against him, so just give it up. I promise I'll be nice. Just think of it as practice for your new occupation."
"No! Let go!" Frantically, she tried to pull away from him, but he was very strong. "LET GO OF ME!"
Hearing the yelling, Stryker looked up and excused himself from his friend. He rounded the corner and saw the tiger trying to drag the pretty fox down the hall. She was fighting for all she was worth, but it wasn't doing much good.
"HEY! The lady said to let go, now I'm telling you, let go!" he growled as he loped up to the pair.
"And what are you gonna do about it?"
Stryker didn't bother to answer, instead he swung out with a swift right hook, connecting solidly with tiger's jaw. He stood ready, as the tiger finally let go of Jasmine and turned to face Stryker completely.
"Why you--" he didn't even finish his sentence as he barreled forward, trying to grab hold of Stryker, who just stepped out of the way, then beckoned to the tiger with his fingers.

Chris stopped, watching the group go by, and yawned wide. Zopa again, probably. He's always causing trouble. Ahh well. She continued up the stairs to the deck to check out the spectators. Pretty quiet, considering. The crowd isn't very big, but then again it wasn't a very big fight that night. After a few minutes of inspecting the crowd, and receiving quite a few looks in return, she turned and headed back down the stairs to the hall. That's when she heard the commotion. ANOTHER troublemaker already? Damnit...
With a heavy sigh she brought her arms up and locked them together behind her head, turning the corner and stopping. Oh, another bouncer was already on it. Nevermind then! She started to turn away when it struck her. The other bouncer WAS the troublemaker. Lovely. Without a word to any of the parties involved she walked up and grabbed the bouncer by the scruff of the neck. He let out a rough growl mixed with a "HEY!" just before his face was smashed into the wall. The tiger goes down faster than the wolf earlier, that was all it took to knock him unconscious.
"Ya'll okay? Betcha the Man'll be fumin' when 'e finds out wha' Ah did." She kicked the tiger on the floor, who let out a soft groan, crossed her arms across her chest, and studied Stryker for a moment. "Eeeey, arentcha a fighter tonigh'? Yeh coulda' takin 'im jus' fine, Ah bet." She grinned, and was obviously now trying to show off, tensing up her arms to flex a bit. After all she was a fighter too, she liked to intimidate the others. Though she had this sneaking suspicion that Stryker wouldn't be phased, he looked to be one of the tougher ones.

Jasmine rubbed her wrist and looked scornfully at the unconscious tiger. At the question, she looked up gratefully.
"Yes, thank you, both of you. I just couldn't get my wrist loose. He caught me off guard."
Stryker smiled encouragingly. "It's alright. He didn't get what he wanted, and he won't be trying again for sometime. I"m Stryker."
Jas smiled shyly, "Jasmine, thanks again, both of you. I think I better hurry up and get back to my seat."
Jasmine hurried away leaving the two fighters by themselves. Stryker watched her go, then turned to Chris.
"That was pretty good. And yes, I probably could've taken him myself if you hadn't shown up. I'm supposed to fight in the main thing tonight. I think I've seen you fight a couple of times. Didn't realize you were a bouncer too."
