I hope by "feel free to share", you mean "feel free to just post for it", and not "feel free to submit your idea for approval". ^^; If it is that last one, feel free to just delete this thread for the time being, until I've gotten the appropriate approvals. ^^;
Mostly, I'm posting this now to find out what everyone wants to do with this. I've got an idea for a haunted mansion scenario, not terribly unlike Resident Evil. Anyone interested in playing in something like that, please post here, and lemme know whatcha want!
Lemme nail down what's gonna be a constant... The action is gonna take place in an old mansion. The place has been condemned, but all attempts to tear it down have resulted in equipment failure and such. Characters who can join include local kids going in on a bet/dare/whatever, paranormal investigators hired by the local government to check the place out, a group of people and their dog whose van broke down nearby, whatever, so long as it fits with the story.
1st question: When? I could easily see this setting work in a 1920's-era setting, or I could go something more contemporary, where our ghost-hunters have more modern equipment. A lot about the game depends on this question...
2nd question: Who/what? What kinda species does everyone want involved? Myself, I'd prefer as fully anthro as possible, 'cuz let's face it, ghosts and undead creatures of cute things just detract from the overall horror effect...
3rd question: How? Are the events going on truly paranormal in nature, like in Eternal Darkness, or are they more scientific/technological, like they were in Resident Evil? Again, a lot regarding the story progression depends on how people answer this question...
So yeah, if you'd be interested in a supernatural horror game, go ahead and post in here and answer these questions, and I will do my best to get this rolling ASAP!

You don't need approval to post anything here. Shani made this sub-board so that you can do whatever you want.
1st answer: Me and Shani agree that a 1920's setting would be more interesting. 2nd answer/question: What do you mean by fully anthro? Does it mean they look like animals that walk on their hind legs or something? Detail. (I personally would go with humans.) 3rd answer: If people do decide to go with the 20's, then super-natural would be a better fit.

Jeeze, Eternal Darkness. What a mind fu---- yeah, I'll stop there.
1.) 20's definitely would be interesting. 2.) Don't doubt the scariness of something cute! Evil killer ghost bunnies that devour you in packs! 3.) And yeah, in a 20's setting, paranormal would make more sense.

To clarify what I meant on #2... You have quasi-anthro furries, whose "hands" are almost more like paws than hands... Such characters would have a harder time with complex mechanisms like guns or keyboards. You have full-anthro furries. Then you have humans. Personally, in this sort of setting, I'd prefer that last one, but this is y'all's board, and I *am* capable of rolling with it, so tell me what y'all want. ^^

Here's an example of some quasi-anthros that are very dexterous with their paws. tracyjb.deviantart.com/art/Lackadaisy-Cats-29744730And yes, seemingly cute things that pull a knife on you are scary. all the more reason they should have paws that can hold knives :3

Sorry for the delay. 12-hour days at work are not conducive to a healthy social life. x.x
And yes, Lackadaisy ftw. XD
Alright, then... So, we're dealing with a 1920's paranormal situation. I have the setting in mind. Only thing I'm not clear on is the characters... Is that two votes for "disgustingly cute", or is that two people abstaining and telling me that cute can be scary at the same time? ^^;

XD Cute can be scary at the same time. I'd be all for quasi-anthros, but if we do human, I can always see what I can come up with To me, anthros seem to have a larger range of appearance. Humans when it boils right down to it all look essentially the same, with changes in eye and hair color, and hair style, etc. But that's just my ramble o.o Come to think of it, I already have a human character I could use XD

Quasi-anthro? I'd join in a heartbeat. X3 I call them feral anthro myself. Fun to draw. ^_^

I think Benny and Elliot were just pointing out that cute can be scary at the same time ^^ As for the chars, doesn't matter to me what they're like, anthro or human, but Lackadaisy's style sure is appealing.

Oh lordy, after reading Lackadaisy, I have so many potential characters XD

And quasi-anthro wins! And here I thought that wouldn't be potentially frightening enough to be terribly appealing. Thank Lackadaisy for proving me wrong. XD
Alright, so... Characters can be anything from the 1920's. Private Investigators are highly enviable but also highly dangerous positions. Policemen, local kids, anyone else who's fascinated with ghost stories and stories of the paranormal are all also acceptable positions. I could be wrong, but I *think* that paranormal investigation hadn't been invented at this point in time, so none of those, but there're plenty of other jobs folks could take, and still have an interest in ghosts and such.
Since we spent so long figuring all this out, should I start a second thread for the actual rp, or just post here? ^^;

I think there may have been paranormal investigators and clubs for such things as early as the late 1800s, but only in Britain. So if such a character position does exisist, the person would have to be English XD
I think a new thread for the RP itself is a good idea. This one can be counted as its parallel discussion thread ^^

I don't think they'd "have" to be english. Just because it was popular there doesn't mean that it didn't bleed over to other places. Of course, the farther you are away from Britain, the less likely that someone would pick it up But in the American states there were plenty of people interested in the paranormal, they just didn't call themselves investigators. Like the Brothers Grimm for instance.

Yeah, it was late, and I was more thinking along the lines of modern-day paranormal investigators, who use equipment to verify the existence or nonexistence of paranormal occurrences in different areas. This will be taking place in the States, in a small town. Somewhere. The exact state shouldn't matter too much. The kind of town where just about everyone knows just about everyone else.
I need to check up on a couple historical facts for my first post, but I will be making the initial post later today. Hopefully everyone has fun with it. ^^

Fun fact: I looked up four or five different things to help add flavor to my first post--and then it got so long that most of the information I had looked up hit the editing room floor, so to speak. XD
