I know there're a lotta characters that aren't finished yet, and I know people are busy, but I'm getting really antsy about this... I don't mean to push, but is there a ballpark guesstimate for when we can get started? ^^;

There is a ballpark guesstimate when I am comfortable with the # of characters and the # of players

Alright, so the gun-to-the-head approach isn't working for either of us. X3

Not a very good approach at all X3 Keppy's been using it and as a result we have uninterested members leaving HE.

Hehe, good thing I was just kidding. ^^; Actually, the responses I've gotten have ranged from "Well, we'll see..." down to "WTF??? Furries in BSG???" ^^;

I guess it's the whole "furry" part that's turning most people off of it. Since BSG ain't originally furry. It's like doing Chip & Dale's Rescue Rangers only as humans. XD

I dunno if that's the best comparison because Furry BSG = awesome and Chip & Dale as humans = fail XD

Mos things as humans don't work out. Maybe Elliot does xD so it's hard to find a good comparison.

Anything can work out, either as furries or as humans. It all depends on the writing.
I mean, hell, there've been lemons I've read, where the subject matter was normally stuff that would turn me off, but the writing was such that it really grabbed my attention, anyway. >_> It all depends on the writing. BSG (the TV series) had a massive potential for fail, but the writing is hella tight, the characters are very believable and easy to associate with, and the problems they face are very powerful problems... Racism, war, politics, and a witch hunt that makes Salem look like a child's game of checkers. These are issues that transcend furries-vs-humans, and allow a furry BSG rpg to work at all, whereas most of the Rescue Rangers' problems (to continue the example) centered around the fact that they were all a bunch of rodents living in a human world...so the only way to have a human-based version of that show would be to have the humans living in a world of giant rats.

I wasn't talkin about the writing/story aspect, though. What I meant by the example is that it's something people aren't used to. (You can take Redwall instead; that doesn't appear to have humans in it.) It just seems strange and may be a turnoff even to people who don't necessarily dislike either BSG or furries.
If we talk about the writing, then you're right that good writing makes a story or RP good. But then it doesn't depend at all on the original show or series but on the writing skill of the roleplayers. A TLK RP can be epic and full of twists and obstacles, or it can be nearly void of plot and center around a bunch of lions just chatting it up, independent of what the original movies were about.
BTW, I showed Darfy a RR comic yesterday that was pretty epic compared to the simplicity of the show XD It was great from the art to the story to the dialogue. We need RPers like that!
