The assumed human elated at the other’s words. His statement seemed so incident…Perhaps he is not what I conceived him to be. Victoria sighed through her nose in relief and slowly slipped the vial back into her cloak pocket. A smile returned to her pretty face as she addressed him. “It’s quite alright and I assure you, your question will be answer when we had entered the safety of my cabin.”
Hearing the little cat’s growl, she redirected to Ebony. “What is it Ebony?” Now she heard them, closing footsteps right on top of them. She must have been too distracted to hear them until now. Victoria gazed at the spot the cat was fixed on, holding the lantern higher to see. Thinking of her unborn children, she tucked to the side in order to safe guard them.
Strong at first, Ebony now receded until she had reached Victoria, keeping her silver eyes ahead. She literally jumped at the surprised sight of the creature. Ebony wailed, leaping into woman’s arms. It was very difficult for the mother-to-be, holding the lantern in one hand, having her bag hanging on her arm which now held Ebony, all the while jostling around her pregnant stomach.
Victoria’s eyes broaden, unbelieving. She had only read about and seen pictures of these creatures in her books. She had also read who was daring enough to create them and that frightened her. “Dargas…” Another fact that worried her, despite their own name use for her kind, they could sense what she was…
When Kiling called for the third one of their party, it did not come from up front like the other two had. No, with quiet footsteps, Cetear had moved, entering the trail from behind the intruders. She kept her long bat-like ears flatted against her reptilian head. Her single clawed thumbs flexed, arms arched, the bat-like wings folded close to her. This creature had a threatening stare. The she-darga proceeded to the one closest; Fabins the goblin. She sniffed the air around the goblin before giving a head shake, ruffling her cyan tinted silver fur, and gave a loud snort through her long snout. Cetear sent Fabins a piercing glance before shifting toward Victoria and Ebony, a little reptilian trill in her throat as if questioning the stated Ejen. She stared sternly at Victoria before sniffing the air near her; Cetear’s eyes then widened. She lowered her head respectfully in a bow. “Ejen,” sounded her grating high-pitched voice.

Fabins had never seen frightening creatures such as them. The sight of their deathly visages made him firmly grip his salami, which he then erected in front of himself, so that, should they attack, they would devour the salami before they got to him. But they didn't really scare him, no – he would defend Victoria and Miss Ebony until he could no longer stand.
However, when one of the creatures, who went by the name of Cetear, came up from behind him, and Fabins heard her grunt, turned out he was even too scared to move and dropped down into a fetal position, involuntarily jerking the salami overhead. Maybe they would go away if he stayed perfectly still, he thought.
The great Gem was appalled by this malicious accusation. "You're the one who shot first and is now asking questions!" he ejaculated at Kiling. He ruffled up his chest fluff, nose in the air, and added, "Furthermore, I am not a miserable failure, as you have so wrongly labeled me!" and then he proceeded to barrel-roll his eyes like a WWII fighter pilot would a plane. "It was due to my magnificent survival skills that I sniffed out those magical mushrooms and now detected possible impending danger," he boasted, elegantly placing a forepaw on his chest. "I'm not going to believe that she is Ejen until I have proof."
The darga then turned to face the "intruder" and saw Cetear approaching from the other side, as if closing in for the "kill" on a hunt, instead of just trying to chase them off. "Step away from that Ejen!" he quacked an order, clearly knowing Cetear was the slow one in the group and prone to making "mistakes", at least from his point of view.

~This post starts with a clear synopsis of this story, for the TL;DR folk~ Kiling wuz all leik “yo, fcuk dat!” and moseyed over to the Ejen all gangsta and shit. “so this smash happened ya see, babe, they was all “woah” and I was all “no!’ and now we’s in dis twist, ya feeling me?” ~now back to reality~ Knowing well ahead of time that Gem was going to go off his rocker, Kiling took initiative by deciding to get matters over with quickly, before any more quarreling happened. In the worst case, this situation could result in the scaring off of their only ticket to survival, and it was already becoming evident that their “guests” were feeling like they were over-staying their welcome. Steadily distancing herself from Gem, Kiling moved closer to the rag-tag party of adventurers while avoiding eye contact with the other two dargas, so as not to catch their stupid. “Geez, I never called him a miserable failure, his ego must be swelling big time right now… though I have to admit, I do have something new to call him now!” she thought in simultaneous amusement and repulsion. While this task might’ve seemed easy at first, a bit of uneasiness stirred Kiling when she finally approached the Ejen since, after all, Ejen are of the master race, and she didn’t want to seem like a servant making demands to a king, or a god even. Holding back any emotion that might’ve made the inquiry sound awkward or strange, Kiling’s plea was quite straight-forward and to-the-point. “We need your help!”

A frightful yelp escaped Victoria as Cetear went from Fabins toward her, her unborn children, and little Ebony. When the other two, Gem and Kiling, started to approach, she gave a shriek filled gasp, backing away from the three nightmarish creatures until she fell into a nook a tree’s large roots. The lantern clattered but thankfully did not break; built of the strongest material and skill filled craftsman. The kitten’s face was so full of terror, Ebony could only do was cling to Victoria’s arm.
Victoria cried out when she fell, hitting her back and her elbows to the point the blows where heard. Her monocle fell off its position. The knock and the fall before loosened her headpiece, the headband and the solid color snood, alone with something else, her brown hair…a wig. They fell off backwards, revealing long, beautiful white hair and now her ears, which were slightly pointed. Victoria only pretended to be human…she was something more…
Panting hard, heart rate raised, Victoria quickly looked, with a wince in her eye, to Fabins before returning to the Dargas. “Please… Please don’t hurt us!” she paced to get out. Victoria didn’t try to move and even if she did, she knew she was stuck. She knew as a forthcoming mother panic and stress weren’t good but she couldn’t help it in this situation! Just then, the words of Kiling clicked and she began to slowly calm…
Cetear rattled her tongue lowly, keeping her eye on Gem as he approached, knowing what the other two Dargas thought of her. She wasn’t stupid; she was reserve and cautious, critical when needed to be, like now. When Gem got closer and in the right position, Cetear back handed him by throwing out her wing, fully slapping him with the leather, screeching, "Idiot!" Retracting it and folding her arm once again, she moved forward, from the self proclaimed ‘idiot.’
Keeping paces away from Kiling, Cetear stared at the Ejen and her cat creature. She clicked her head, rolled her tongue, and clicked it once before lightly snapping her jaws and speaking. “Yes, Ejen, as Kiling said, we need your help.” Cetear bowed slightly out of respect once more, perhaps proving she was the eldest and more experienced one.

Fabins slowly opened one eye and then the other, taking a peek at what was happening since he still appeared to be whole, as was his salami, it seemed. The Dargas didn't touch him, which offered him a momentary relief, but it now looked like two of them were surrounding his travel companions. At first it seemed like they would attack, especially after Victoria fell down, but then it looked like they were... bowing to her. Steadily helping himself up, using the salami for support, Fabins crept towards them cautiously, flattening himself against the tree once he reached Victoria to distance himself from the monstrous bipeds as much as possible.
He took a hold of Victoria's arm to help her up out of the roots of the tree, only to freeze up upon noticing her pointed ears and silvery white hair. 'I-is she really an elf?' he thought in terror, his heart pounding even more than it already was thanks to all the recent happenings. He had never actually seen one, and had only read of their fair hair and pointy ears. Shifting his eyes back and forth between the "Ejen" and the monsters, he considered his options. Perhaps it was best for him to just hide out of sight or run away? It was too late now, however, as he was caught standing right between the Dargas and the woman.
Gem's face contorted into a knot of displeasure and contempt at being back-handed by Cetear, his ego seething out of every orifice of his being. "I am disillusioned by you, Cetear!" he screeched back, always having figured that she was the quiet and compliant one, diplomatic and poised, the epitome of feminine perfection and the exact opposite of Kiling. "Fine, be that way! I am above fighting," He said as a king would at being confronted by a barbarian. "See if I ever help you again," he finished, turning away without waiting for a reply. He flapped away into the dark shroud of tree cover, feigning an escape to somewhere far away, but, in reality, staying close enough to eavesdrop on the events to happen.
