(Sorry for the late late late pose. Been very busy lately sorting out stuff/drama IRL.)
"Well, if ya'll are going to sleep in the 'track' ", Edwin quips, moving over to one of the beat-up beds, patting it slightly before sitting down "I think I'll just make myself comfy here..."
While waiting for an inevitable protest, Edwin begins unloading some gear, starting with his rifle. He leans it down against the bed-post, making sure to pull the clip out just incase it fell over, then dumps the rest of his stuff by the dusty corner where noone will trip over it. Sitting on the edge of the bed, his cheery mood seems to take a bit of a nosedive when he considers everyones reaction if he undresses himself. Knowing that most of their party still haven't actually seen what he looks like. Edwin lacked both the confidence and patience to reveal himself and explain anything. At least, not yet.
Edwin snerks, throwing a rather disgusting looking pillow off towards the other bed before laying back and stretching out. He relaxes for the moment, tuning in to what spangler has to say, hoping noone asks him why he's still wearing practically 2 layers of clothing.

(LOOK WHO'S BAAACK :>>)
Kawako had pretty much taken one look at the run down room, a brow raised as she hefted backpack, compound bow, and gun upon her shoulders. "Yeah... I think I'm gonna sleep outside. Somehow it seems a little more clean than in here..." Birdgirl would mutter from the doorway, eyeing the crew as they went about setting up for the night.
Items were set outside the doorway on the ground, Kawako moving to kick off her ratty sneakers and let her human-looking feet breathe. Mahogany gaze lingered on Edwin a moment, wondering why he still wore so much clothing, but she wasn't one to judge since she wore such a scarce wardrobe.
"What kinda show could /we/ put on? 'Cause I don't think a few fancy card tricks will have folks pouring in." The bird woman looks to Spangler now, pointing a taloned finger at those deck of cards he kept shuffling.

Mirka turned her head towards Spangler. She didn't trust this guy nearly enough to tell him that the majority of their goods weren't paid for in the first place, so she simply listened on in scrutinizing silence.
Seeing Edwin claim the other bed, she continued to undress, laying down her military-style coat to serve as a blanket, since it was cleaner than the musty sheets below it. When she let down her bun, her slightly wavy hair reached down to her thighs. As she turned around, her face was met with a grody pillow. "Aaack!" Clutching it furiously, she tossed it back onto Edwin's bed.
"Wah, don't leave me here alone with the guys!" she pleaded with Kawako in a hushed voice when the bird-woman said she'll sleep outside, but it didn't look like she was going anywhere soon, since she'd removed her sneakers. After Kaw made her comment to Spangler, Mirka also quipped in, "And why are you so eager to let us in on your trade secrets, hmm?"

"All my secrets?" asks Spangler, grinning. "No chance of that." He fans out the cards. "Pick one. I'll bet you a dollar I can tell you which one it is, as long as you truthfully answer... hmmm... let us say, three yes or no questions."

His interest somewhat peaked, Edwin's glance moves from the cards to spangler, eying him suspiciously. He didn't want to admit it, but he had little-to-no knowledge about card games or anything of the sort. Just that someone usually lost a bit of money. For now, he remained silent. Waiting to see what happens next.

The woman would blink in surprise as Mirka wanted her to stay, Kawako shaking her head while rubbing her forehead with a sigh. "Fine, fine." She'd feel a little like a babysitter now as she grabbed her things and moved them inside to rest along the wall.
Kawako would then move to sit on the bed beside Mirka, a lengthy wing stretching out to drape over the girl's shoulders. The feathers were soft and warm like some sort of large, wrap-around down shawl.
She didn't seem to make a move to grab any of the cards though, simply eyeing Spangler. "Hm... I'd give it a go, but I don't feel like losing money."

"Wow, you already think I'd win your dollar? And I hadn't even demonstrated yet." Spangler grins, straightening out the pack and giving it another shuffle. "And you see, if I do win, I haven't spent anything on raw materials. Add a little pizzazz, a bit of patter... from a crowd on the street, I can gather a bet or two. Lose just enough to convince more people to try, win just enough to come out ahead... it's a delicate balancing act. But I can do it every day, and I keep the cards... so I've got no raw material costs, no time spent picking up new goods to sell. That's how to get a serious income."

Now it was Mirka's turn to blink in surprise as Kawako's feathered appendage draped over her shoulders. She didn't expect this level of familiarity from her, and was about to tell her that she was too close, but feeling the blanket-like softness and warmth, she began to appreciate it.
After listening to the exchange between Kawako and Spangler, Mirka concluded that she would go for it. "...or a serious beating," she added to his words with a smirk. "I'll play your zasraný game." She pulled one card out of the deck, now really curious how he could make an income out of this and why people were so willing to pay their hard earned cash for a game.

"Ah, people skills, that's the secret." says Spangler, grinning and fanning out the cards. Mirka draws a three of hearts, and Spangler begins with his questions.
"Is it a red card?" he asks, and (assuming she answers 'yes'), follows with "Is it a diamond?" and, finally, "Is it a face card?"

Looking unamused, Mirka replied, "Yes, No, No." That left him with 10 different possibilities, and unless the cards were either marked or he had x-ray vision or some mind-reading ability, all he had now was a wild guess. The girl waited to see how he'd actually win this.

"Your card is... the seven of hearts?" guesses Spangler.

"Ne," said Mirka, disappointed, and flipped the card to show a three of hearts. She may have won the game, but it felt like it was just a waste of time. "Your game didn't really keep my interest like Poker or Blackjack would. Now those are addicting." She stretched out a hand to receive her winning. The last bit of light has left the room and Mirka ducked out of Kawako's wing to roll up into her coat instead. "Well, we're heading out of the city limits tomorrow, so let's sleep like the dead while we can."

"Well done!" Spangler tosses a bright, shiny coin to Mirka. "You won a dollar. Anybody else want to try?"

The last on-topic post was in February, then I tried picking up the tread two monthes ago, but hadn't touched it till now. And it's my favourite RP, too. My GM skills are obviously lacking.

The Innkeepers were early risers, like any working people. So was padre Sebastian. With the priest's help, they quickly finished their morning chores and shared an early breakfast.
"Will you stay for another day, Padre?"
"I'm afraid not. I'm on a pilgrimage, and can't stay for long. But I'll sure visit if my path leads here again."
"We'll be happy to meet you again. There are occasionally pilgrims around, visiting the Shrine of Cog in the Old City. Is this where you're going?"
"I don't know yet. But I'll sure pass by."
