Orpheus needs a highly skilled crew to go on a multi-year journey, hoping to be the first crew to ever leave the system.
Being the captain and lead scientist, what Orpheus says, goes. Besides Orpheus, each person has a maximum of two fields of expertise. The fiels of expertise can be found in the Crew List thread. Uniforms for each field's staff will be drawn for reference.
The Harbinger is actually a collaboration between three companies who are normally sworn enemies: Hangarcorp Labs did the main hull and power source, sensors, and computers. Kirisawa Heavy Mech Industries (Hangarcorp's biggest competitor) helped with the innards of the hangar and built the engines. While a third company, Aerotech Industries, did all the furnishing and conveniences.

You can use any actual species (dragons are the exception, they're allowed). Their solar system will be the same as ours, and a number of the planets will be quick stops for some extra research before they head otu towards the nearest star-same as ours, Alpha Centauri-to explore planets spotted around it and to completely map its system. During the years of travel, they're going to perform many experiemnts and develop new technologies with their extensive resources and the option of zero-g environments.

Hey! =)
Sorry to be kinda awkward here but you mean that you can use species like goats/dogs/birds etc? Is it allowed to do a mix of two different species? Like for example: a goat/bear?
Also do they have to be standing on two legs or can they go on four or however many legs they have? xD
~Thank you!

Hi! I'm gonna try and answer this for Kepora. XD
First off, you can use any species imaginable. We're a multicultural crew. Hybrids are most likely not possible. Only if the species are from the same family, like felines, canines, rodents... so a goat/bear is unlikely. We do have one hybrid, though, so Kep will have to confirm it.
They're mostly humanoid and would stand on their hind legs, at least for the sake of being polite and civilized. =P But it all depends on the species.

I'd prefer to keep the crew anthropomorphic (human-like, on two legs) to keep things simple, and a goat/bear...PM me with a better description and I'll get to ya on that one, kay?

Since I seem to be the leader of these hybrid questions, I'LL TAKE THE CASE! The entire story is probably fairly complicated, so I'll boil it down to the essentials: Any mammal can have a child with another mammal. Predatory genetics typically are dominant, in other words, if you mix a cat with a dog, the dog would probably could out a bit more in the mix. Monkey and Tasmanian Devil? Probably more of the Devil. A Hedgehog and a Rabbit? ...your choice, since they'd typically walk right by each other So, taking Shani's Goat/Bear example, it'd be possible if you really wanted to, but you'd probably end up having a bear with hooves for feet, and horns o.o Probably some goatish markings too, but it'd mostly be a bear since they're the predator. Any reptile can have a child with another reptile. Again, predatory takes precedence, but not as much as on mammal side, so you can work a bit with it. Avians can have a child with either reptile or mammal. They're sort of a molding building block between the two. This doesn't mean you can mix mammal and reptile by using an avian middle, it just means that they work with either. The reasoning being that Avians seem to have genetic background both from and to both mammals and reptiles, and partially the fact that avian features look fairly decent on either Insects can't mix with Insects. If you wanted a butterfly cockroach, you couldn't at the moment, still need to talk with Kep about that Though, I dunno who'd want that <.< Artificial genetic mixing like with "Seven" is possible. Though keep in mind that, unless Kep decides otherwise, it has a high chance of failure. Seven came from a "family" of several hundred attempts, of which only a few matured, and she's the only one that ended up what they wanted from the experiment. Even then, she's mostly reptile, they were breeding for personality from the badger, mostly. Even the smallest changes like a personality rewrite can cause massive failure. Keep that in mind if you want to do something more drastic! *waits for Kep to debunk anything* o.o;

I look at my characters in a semi-feral light, IE, mostly feral characteristics but walk on two/wear clothes, etc. Paws instead of hands :3

New rule I mentione din one of Elliot's profiles: ALL graphic "personal" scenes MUST be restricted to Personal Messages or Instant Messengers; I'm putting down this rule for a friend of mine who's underage and wishes not to see such acts herself-as well as for ym sister, whom will be joining us. Such RPs that take place in direction connection to the RP WILL affect you and the other person in-RP andmay be referenced, but try to keep it at a PG-13 rating, at the VERY most the occassional R rating.
Long story short: yiff on your time, not ours XP

Yeah, keep it to yourself!
If anyone's interested, the way I usually do it is allow certain things to affect the story, but they don't actually "happen" so to speak. For instance, Elliot, as well as most of my characters, have a heat cycle. Will you see anything? No. But during that time the character may seem stressed, tense, and have a few other personality changes that lead up to it. Did a character of mine supposedly just sleep with someone? Then there might be jokes about it, as well as a romantic attitude around that person.
Hint to things if you're going to, but don't go right out and do it! Das nasteh <.<;
