Unless they sense a bad wind coming, or get really bad vibes from the ship/planet that Harbinger is approaching.. and decide to bail incase things DO turn bad as expected... It happens...
just less sensative/more curious people won't be expecting something negative and treat it all as something unexpected.

Also, as for "getting away ahead of time" or whatever...it's one of those thigns that no one sees coming, and no one really knows until it's far too late. Generalization. The standard crew wouldn't see it coming. Extraterrestrials who have most likely encountered this before at some point in time (on a species scale) probably could. Like Zap for instance. Her ship, would would be closely following the Harbinger at all times, would scan and pick up something like this and relay to her. She would try to warn them, probably would be ignored in some fashion, and take off before the crap hit the fan. To be a nerd, these guys are like the Borg from Star Trek. GTFOI also have that "mystery" character that I've talked to a few of you about. Considering its position, what do you think it would do when something like this happened? (Yay obscure references!)

A dead world. Inhabitable, yes, but still dead. If it's inhabitable, then I'm going to assume the planet has oxygen on it, which leads me to my next point: Though Earth-like in composition and location-as well as the abundance of water-the land was barren, devoid of life of any sort-not even any microbes had been found as of yet. Wat? -____- A planet can't not have microbes or bacteria if water is present. And continuing from the last point, in order for a planet to have oxygen in the first place, there has to a presence of cyanobacteria and stromatolites to create it, which is why scientists are so eager to look for it on other planets. When the conditions for life are perfect (right distance from sun, right amount of gravity, right soil composition, ect.) life makes itself.

And there is one thing that I would like to address: When did the Harbinger send out part of their crew to investigate the other planet? If they already did that (and I'm guessing they did since we're already in close proximity to this planet and cause we wouldn't want to go through RPing farewells to chars whose RPers aren't even present), then why are the chars we're using still in cryo-sleep? Wouldn't they like to see their friends off? And if it took only 2 years to get from Mars to Pluto/Eris, then they wouldn't find a need to go back into cryo-sleep.

This isn't Pluto/Eris, this is over in the next system. They're going to be spending a good amount of time down there...but now that I think about it, they won't remain in cryo-sleep for much longer. I'll edit it later to say that they're currently out of comms range, checking out the other planets.
Also, Benny, that will all be explained in due time. They also said that they haven't found any microbes -so far-; they've barely scratched the surface, but this anomaly's caught their attention for the time being.

*facepalm* I never said this is Pluto/Eris. I said that getting from point A to point B doesn't take long enough for them to go into cry-sleep. We have two teams here, remember? One going to each planet of this system. So they would have woken up already before half the crew set out for the system's other planet, which they should have done at this point.

As I told you in IM, I'm most likely going to be cutting out the whole cryo-sleep thing for the rest of the crew and replacing it with them simply being out of comms range as they explore the other uninhabitable planets.

You told me that after I posted here, and I didn't quite get what you meant by "the Harby jumping back and forth between planets". We should leave the ship with the crew we're actually RPing and interacting with, and leave the rest alone. They may be using a repaired Cygnus.
