hey y'all, so I got some questions:
1. are amphibians allowed and what can they hybridize with? 2. can they have boobs and humanoid bodies? 3. can they or reptiles have hair? 4. how many characters are allowed per player? and 5. do profiles have to be separate or can they be in one thread?

Hello Stella! ^_^ So glad you're finally joining. But don't bother if it's on account of the main roleplay; it's not the least bit active.
You could still check out some of the others, though.

Hi! I'm here to correct Kep on some statements because I'm such a jerk like that:
1) yes, amphs are allowed, as for a hybrid/chimera, we have had some unusual combos, but we try to keep it reasonable (I.E: some hybrids can be made to resemble old myths, such as a bird/snake to resemble the Quetzcoatle, or a Bird/mammal to resemble a gryphon) 2) mamels have boobs with NIPPLES! yes ooh-aah, magical word, but tis true. Please be reasonable in the placement of your 'boobs'. Mammels definately would have them (keyword being MAMMEL), Reptiles have 'boobs' only as large fat reserves. otherwise they don't have them. Birds don't have them. and insects/arthropods/stomatopods (such as Shrimp, prawn, Lobsters, crabs and Mantis shrimp) will NOT have them, AT ALL, unless it is a decorative bump. however certain sea life otherwise may have a precarious fat reserve or spare muscle (eels and octopi) while things like shark and fish are likely to not have them. 3) Hair is also a small issue, despite it all being modified scales out the wazzoo, please be descriminating about where you put your hair, Reptiles will not have hair, (the Character Cole Jerome does not count as he is a hybrid and Moray Eel 'hair' is their frill feathered out into a mane) Amphibians also do not have hair (finer than frog's hair split three ways is a necissary joke here), if it's not available in real life, it is not likely to have them as an anthro. otherwise it'd be a wig. 4) we can have any number, as long as we have the ability to keep track of all of them. 5) if the characters are closely related (like twins) then they'd have the same page, or if they have an assistant then the same applies, otherwise, it is profile-per-character.
hope that helps :>

Also, Tropi, it's spelled "mammal".

AWW, it isn't? xD so do the other rp's have anthro characters or just this one? and are you sure it's inactive?
1. good, good. I wanted a frilled/Jesus lizard, longtail salamander and a cane toad. 2. so...... a lizard can haz them, but an amphibian can not? 3. aww, I was so happy when Kepora said Yup, but no hair means no hair I guess. 4. I can handle 3. 5. profile-per-character it is then.
thnx

2: Either of them can have them if you desire. 3: Yes, you can have hair on them if you want. They ARE anthros as well.

First of all, them being "anthro" only means that they have human characteristics and are "human-shaped". It doesn't mean that they were literally cross-bred with humans or have mammalian genes in them. So that's no reason for them to have hair. On the other hand... this frog has something like hair. "Breeding males also develop – somewhat hair-like – dermal papillae that extend along the flanks and thighs. These contain arteries and are thought to increase the surface for the purpose of absorbing oxygen". They also have "claws". Of course that relates only to that species of frog, but it does give the possibility of hair for amphibians.

on 2) I was more saying that Mammels are the only one with nipples. everything else is just a mass fat reserve or a fatty decoration. 3) Yeah, Shani is correct here. I still stand by my philosophy of: if it doesn't have hair/fur in real life, don't give it hair/fur. Despite what OTHERS may just whimsically allow >_>

gots another question: is nano technology present in this setting and if so, to what extent? like, could one have nanites in their blood that they can control? and if so, would they be capable of doing things like spreading viruses, creating electrical storms, and possessing technopathy?
if not, what is the closest alternative?

Well, I have two characters that have a form of nanites.
but these are just examples. since I seem to be the one who does the most work on giving detail to the robots/androids/artificial super intelligence. (and possibly the first/only person to actually bring nanites and androids into the RP.)
Lomahongva - her nanite colonies are at work repairing her bones, as she's got a bone disease that weakens her bones, making her exceptionably fragile.
Jenny - Jenny suffers severe lethargy, so she needs a special medical serum (manufactured by her father) to routinely introduce into the body stimulations to assist in keeping her active and awake. this however leaves her craving sugar... A LOT. (this serum may or may not actually be a nanite injection, or just a medical serum full of kickass little mofo bacteria)

Tropi summed up everything pretty nicely. As for what you'd be able to do with nanites in your blood, I think this may be of help: In Metal Gear Solid 2, Raiden actually has all of his blood replaced with synthetic blood teaming with nanites. Never mind the actual viability of that particular gruesome mashup, this is what allows him to interact wirelessly with nerds. Uh, nodes. This is actually perfectly viable, or at least it should be in the next few decades. Current designs project replacing your blood with even 10% of these machines could allow you to go hours without taking a breath. It would possibly allow a person to heal very quickly, but unless you have additional implants, I dunno how much else you'd be able to do with them. On top of that, it would cost millions.
